Mind-Body Management

Gen represents the Mountain: Stillness, grounding, and knowing when to rest. A secular, MBSR-inspired educational program drawing on classical Taoist life science philosophy — exploring systemic awareness, somatic pattern recognition, and mind-body resilience as a cultural study, not clinical practice.

The Four Dimensions of the Gen Program

Systemic Awareness

Explore the body as an interconnected system through classical Taoist somatic metaphors. The Huangdi Neijing is studied as a philosophical text — its five-element and Yin-Yang models examined as contemplative frameworks for self-inquiry, not clinical diagnosis.

Somatic Pattern Recognition

Develop the capacity to recognise recurring physiological and emotional patterns through body-scan and reflective journalling. Classical Chinese emotion-organ correspondences are used as a cultural metaphorical lens for somatic self-awareness.

Circadian & Dietary Energetics

Seasonal rhythm alignment and dietary awareness grounded in the classical 四时养生 (four-season preservation) tradition. Thermal and flavour qualities of food studied as cultural heritage education — lifestyle philosophy, not dietary prescription.

Mind-Body Resilience

Integration of Daoyin (导引), breath regulation, and mindful movement as secular wellbeing practices. Rooted in the Taoist principle of 知止 — knowing when to rest — and applied to community-facing cultural wellness literacy for public benefit.

What We Teach

Curriculum Structure

Three-Level Progression

Level 1 is part of the 8-course Bagua Foundation Program ($1,888 · Members $1,588). Levels 2 and 3 unlock sequentially upon completion.

Level Goal

Establish a grounded, non-clinical understanding of the classical body map. Develop foundational somatic awareness skills through body-scanning, breath observation, and the philosophical study of Yin-Yang and Five-Element models as frameworks for self-inquiry.

1
The Classical Body Map: Systems Thinking & Contemplative Inquiry

Study the Huangdi Neijing as a philosophical and cultural text. Examine the Five-Element model as a systems metaphor — mapping relationships between perceived body states, seasonal rhythms, and emotional tendencies without making clinical claims.

2
Somatic Awareness & Body Scanning Foundations

Introduction to body-scan practice grounded in classical Daoyin (导引) breath-and-attention methods. Develop the habit of neutral, non-reactive observation of physical sensation as a foundational mind-body skill.

3
Emotional Patterns & the Organ Correspondence Model

Explore the classical seven emotions (七情) as a cultural framework for understanding emotion-body feedback loops. Practise reflective journalling to identify recurring emotional-somatic patterns — studied as heritage wisdom, not medical assessment.
